In 2007, I made a switch from the research faculty at UVA to an administrative faculty position.
I’m still just as engaged in the digital humanities, but now you can find me at the Scholars’ Lab, where I work as director of Digital Research & Scholarship for UVA Library. Faculty, staff, and graduate student Fellows of the SLab do amazing things with GIS, statistical, and text-based digital projects. Interested in what a “day in the life” looks like around here? I also serve as Associate Director of the Scholarly Communication Institute. In 2008, SCI focused on connections among digital and more traditional humanities centers. We are continuing that good work in 2009 with an added disciplinary emphasis. The seventh annual Scholarly Communication Institute was held in Charlottesville in June 2009, and focused on spatial tools and methods. SCI 8 and 9 are in planning now, and will center around experimental activities in scholarly publishing.
